Manly Beach’s body has been identified as missing NSW man Richard Gottschald
The body of an elderly man who has been reported missing since Tuesday has been found in the water off Sydney’s Manly Beach.
Richard Gottschald, 81, was last seen at his home on Reddall Street, Manly, around 5pm on Tuesday.
Relatives reported him missing after being unable to reach or locate the 81-year-old.

A police search was launched, including a public appeal for information, as officers and his family had serious concerns about his safety as he was suffering from a medical condition that required medication.
The search ended on Saturday when the public discovered a body in the water at Manly Beach.
Officials retrieved the body and confirmed Sunday that it had been identified as Gottschald.
“Investigations into the circumstances of his death are ongoing,” said a police spokesman.
A report is prepared for the coroner.
