Police are looking for a man they say used a machete to attack a woman at a restaurant. They did not give a name. The incident happened early Thursday morning at the Waffle House on Seabreeze Avenue in Daytona Beach, Florida, authorities said in a statement. WESH report.

The local police released the footage. They say it depicts an unknown man walking into a restaurant. According to officers, the video shows him and the woman talking to each other in a booth. He stood up, mingled with other customers, then returned to the same stall before pulling a machete from his pants and starting to beat the woman, police said.

A witness told police about hearing her scream and the man “slicing the victim with a machete”, according to an incident report obtained by WESH. The unidentified man then left the restaurant, got into a red SUV and left the scene. The woman survived. According to officials, she told police she did not know the person.

The officers did not suggest an alleged motive for the assault.
