Man steals Carroll County ambulance and crashes into police car – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – A man was arrested Thursday after driving an ambulance from a Carroll County hospital and crashing into two police cars, authorities said.
Around 12:15 p.m., deputies learned that a Baltimore County Fire Department ambulance had been stolen from the Carroll Hospital Center, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and state troopers later found the stolen ambulance moving south along 32nd Street, but instead of pulling over, the driver led authorities to pursue a short chase, delegates said.
At some point, the ambulance crashed into the Maryland State Police vehicle and then into the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

The chase ended around 12:30 p.m. when the ambulance stopped near Gamber Fire Company. At that time, the driver was detained.
No one was injured in the incident.

Delegates said charges were pending against the unnamed driver, who was examined at a local hospital.
