Man fighting for his life after stabbing in Campbellfield, Melbourne

A man is fighting for his life and another has been arrested following a knife attack in Melbourne’s north.

According to Victoria Police, two men were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation on Scammel St, Campbellfield at around 1.30pm on Monday.

It is understood the incident soon turned physical and one of the men was stabbed.

The injured man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other man, aged around 50, was arrested at the scene.

He is assisting the Hume Crime Investigation Unit with their inquiries while the investigation continues.

Police said it appeared the two men were known to each other.
