“The man’s family has been informed of the incident.”

The man was officially pronounced dead after being treated by paramedics and taken to Kalgoorlie Hospital.

The incident came just weeks after Terry Czernowski was fatally shot by his colleague in Kellerberrin, 200km east of Perth.

The gunman later turned the gun on himself after police negotiators tried to persuade him to surrender.
