Man and girl allegedly attacked by group while shopping in Woolworths Cranebrook Village

A man and a young girl have reportedly been attacked while shopping at a Woolworths store in western Sydney.

The 42-year-old man and 17-year-old girl were shopping at the Cranebrook Village store Monday night when they were approached by two women and three men who allegedly assaulted them before fleeing the scene, police said.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital in stable condition while the girl was examined by paramedics.

Police investigations led officers to a home in Cranebrook.

There they arrested a 46-year-old woman, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy.

The boy was charged with assault and assault, and the teenage girl with assault and assault.

The woman was charged with assault.

Woolworths responds

Woolworths says employees were among those who responded to the incident.

“There is no place for such violence in our community. Our thoughts are with the injured person and his family at this difficult time,” said a company spokesman.

“Our Cranebrook team responded to the unfolding incident in accordance with our established safety procedures and we thank them for that.
