Male model Jeff Thomas may have died while taking a selfie on the balcony of his high-rise Miami apartment, his agent has claimed.

Jeff Thomas died March 8 with an undisclosed official cause of death.

The 35-year-old model’s LA agent believes his death could have been a tragic accident, but his brother claims Thomas struggled with drug addiction and mental health issues.

The unnamed agent from the Sovereign Talent Group told the Daily Mail she didn’t think Thomas intended to fall and may have been trying to take a selfie.

“I just can’t believe he did that on purpose,” she said.

“He may have fallen while taking a selfie.”

The agent said she spoke to Thomas less than 24 hours before his death and he sounded “happy.”

“He couldn’t wait to tell me about his move to Miami. He seemed excited and proud of himself,” she said.

“He was happy, motivated and excited for his next step, he just loved life.”

“I’m so stunned. He was such a beautiful and sweet boy.”

The agent added that during their last phone call, they were laughing about an upcoming audition she had arranged for him.

“We were talking about a fun audition I had for him that involved kind of a little argument,” she said.

“We laughed about it and he told me he was a comedian at heart.

“He had started a new business, although I didn’t yet know what it was.

“I’m just stunned. I don’t even know how to react.”

However, Thomas’ brother, Skylar Ray Thomas, posted a message on Facebook stating his death was not an accident.

“Dear friends and family,” his post began.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of my brother Jeff on Wednesday March 8th.

“As you have followed over the years, Jeff has traveled the world and lived life to the fullest.

“What you may not know is that Jeff struggled with addiction and mental health issues, which ultimately led to his tragic death.”

Skylar said Jeff went through “difficult” struggles, but the family wanted to remember him “for the kind and caring person he was.”

“He had an infectious sense of humor, a love of music, art and family, and a passion for helping others,” he wrote.

“He touched the lives of so many people and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.

“As a family, we hope Jeff’s passing can serve as a reminder of the importance of seeking help for mental health and addiction issues.”

When news of his death broke, followers online expressed their condolences.

“My deepest condolences to you and your family. It was amazing working with Jeff,” one wrote.

“No words. Jeff was always an amazing, kind, kind hearted soul. He will be missed forever and always in our hearts,” wrote another.

“Jeff was a free spirit, outgoing, kind, loyal and lived a life of adventure,” wrote a friend.

“I am heartbroken that he is gone but once again my deepest condolences and prayers of comfort for your family.”

Like Thomas’ modeling agent, his cousin Meghan Rae insisted his death was not intentional.

“It wasn’t suicide,” she told the Daily Mail.

“To say otherwise is a complete disregard for his character and who he was.

“The information released is false and defamatory.

“Our family will have no further comments.”

Thomas has been followed by more than 120,000 people on Instagram, where he regularly posts images of his modeling work and fitness routine.

Police were called to the 57-story Brickell Avenue apartment building on March 8, where Thomas was pronounced dead just after 4 p.m. local time.

The model has recently been pictured with actress Megan Fox and singer-actress Nicole Scherzinger.

Thomas, who also founded an art consulting agency, posted a sweet Instagram message about visiting his grandmother just three days before his death.

“It was a process to do all of this after surviving my hectic workday/week, starting my EMT classes, a flat tire, moving to my new home and moving from Los Angeles to Miami,” wrote Thomas.

“But somehow I make it work for those I love, deserve and appreciate those efforts as they do the same for me. “

Fans and friends expressed shock and disbelief at his death and flocked to his Instagram account to leave tributes.

“My sweet Jeff, we were just making plans, you were just joking, we were just dreaming about Europe together,” wrote his girlfriend Brittany De Valdenebro.

“It’s so hard to process, thinking there won’t be a next time.

“You know, we loved you so much and always wanted what was best for you, just like you wanted it for everyone else.

“I will miss you, your smile, your lyrics, your dance so much.”

“One of the most beautiful men I have ever met, inside and out,” wrote another.

Thomas also recently shared a picture of a new tattoo of the word “resilience” on his arm.

An autopsy was performed, according to TMZ, but officials have not yet ruled on a cause of death.
