Covid-19 has led to many last minute changes in WWE matches, the most famous being on WWE Day 1 when Roman Reigns was due to defend his Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar, but the match was abandoned as Reigns positive on Covid- 19 tested. However, this needs to become the norm now as it is far from over. A heavily hyped championship game has been canceled from tonight’s Monday Night Raw to comply with Covid protocols.
The Women’s Tag Team Championship match has been canceled due to the Covid-19 protocols
This week on Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks and Naomi were scheduled to take on Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship contest. Naomi, on the other hand, faced Morgan in a singles match and the commentary team indicated that Ripley was on COVID-19 protocol and had to be removed from the show. Last week, Ripley hinted at a break with Morgan ahead of setting up a tag title fight. She was reported for Edge’s new faction, leading many fans to assume the switch will happen this week.
WWE later announced that the Women’s Tag Team Championship Match will now take place next week on Raw. Two championship matches have been announced for next week, one being the women’s tag titles and the other being the United States Championship match in which Finn Balor defends against Theory.
Rhea Ripley could join Edge’s new stable
It’s been rumored for weeks that Edge is getting his own stable, and now the conspiracy is in full swing. Priest and Edge already seem like unholy allies, but if rumors are to be believed, that’s not all. WWE intends to add more Superstars to this unholy stable, including a top WWE Women’s Superstar.
Rhea Ripley seems to fit the stable beautifully, and WWE is considering forming a faction around her. WWE hinted at a heel turn for Rhea Ripley when she and Morgan lost to Sasha Banks and Naomi a few weeks ago. Still, later in the event, the two seemed to find a solution and take a tag team championship opportunity. If the heel turn comes, or if Ripley and Morgan win the tag titles, we might find out next week on Raw.
