Vykas was finally added to Lost Ark during the June update, and this boss brings with it a whole new set of challenges that you’ll need to coordinate with your team to complete. Legion Raids are a series of extremely difficult battles that require a lot of teamwork between you and up to seven other players. Vykas is a three-part boss that’s intimidating and powerful, and can take a lot of tries.
You must learn all the mechanics of Vykas to clear and get the rewards at the end of the battle. Vykas has two difficulty modes: Normal mode and Hard mode. There are no special mechanics that hard mode has over normal mode, so consult this guide for both.
Consisting of three “gates” or checkpoints, Vykas features three different boss fights. After a small series of mob battles, you’ll come face-to-face with the first boss. For items, we highly recommend bringing Time Stop Potions and Whirlwind Grenades.
As with Valtan, Vykas has sidereal abilities. Star skills can be used by the raid leader and summon allies that cast powerful effects on your team. Star Skills are located at the top left of your screen. Once the bar below the skills is full, your raid leader can cast a star skill.
- Keyboard shortcut: CTRL + Z
- Nineveh deals a significant amount of damage when aimed at the enemy. Nineveh is important to use this raid to pass the DPS check.
- Keyboard shortcut: CTRL + X
- Wei deals a significant amount of stagger damage. If you’re having trouble completing the Stagger Check in this boss, use Wei.
- Keyboard shortcut: CTRL + C
- Inanna reduces the damage you take for a few seconds and heals you as well. Not recommended for this goal.
At around x50 – x55 HP the boss splits in two. Your party will be divided and will have to fight two different versions of the same boss: a Blue version or a purple version. Teams will be split based on your group. and each group fights a random boss. Each boss is fought on a different map, so you only fight with three other players in all phases of this fight.
To both bosses When you reach x30 HP, your two parties then swap positions. When Party 1 fought against them Blue versionthen group 1 at x30 HP swaps and fights them Purple version and vice versa.
This phase is only for them BLUE PARTY. At around x50 HP (if you hit that threshold before the boss splits, this phase will start immediately for the Blue Party), the boss will teleport to the center of the map and create a safe spot around it. After an AoE explosion, four circles appear outside the safe area as follows:
Colored orbs will spawn in these locations. These colored balls always start with that Red color. The balls will then change color out Red => Blue => Green => White => Black and then back to red. Go to each orb (but don’t touch it or it will disappear). The bullet will follow you.
Move outwards to the corners of the map and you will see a colored gate. Your task is to take the ball and lead it to the goal matching the color of the ball with the color of the goal. For example, if your gate color is blue, you must take a ball and lead it to the gate if the ball color is also blue. See the example below:
If the ball goes into the gate but is the wrong color, the gate will explode and you will take significant damage. in the hard mode, if If two or more people fail this mechanic, your group will be deleted.
Stagger Check & Memory game
At x35 HP, the boss will teleport to the center of the map. You must use Stagger Damage to interrupt it and move on to the next phase of this mechanic.
Then each player receives either a blue ball or a black ball around her head. Players with blue orbs should move to either of the top left or bottom right of the map, and black ball players should move top right or bottom left the map.
Following this, a memory Game will happen. Eight circles form a square around the boss. Each circle lights up either five times blue or black. Your job is to memorize these patterns, which will create a path for you to follow. Balls appear from these circles in the order of the circle colors. Collect all orbs to clear this mechanic.
When this mechanic is disabled, a large attack gauge will appear showing either a inner safe place or an outer safe place. This attack doesn’t actually do any harm Blue version Team. That Blue version team must forward this information to the Purple version team as this indicates the safe location for one of their attacks.
Four Safe Spots
At x25 HP, four circles appear around the boss North, East, West and South Positions for each boss. The party fights against them Blue version see a white circle in one of these four positions. That Blue version The party must then forward this information to the Purple Version Party. Whichever circle glows white is that safe place, and the purple version has to go to that circle.
The Purple Version doesn’t have any unique mechanics, apart from one. The purple version’s attacks have different safe spots than that Blue version. Attack indicators that are purple are considered safe. step outside purple attack indicators will harm you. This does not include circle attacks.
The purple version deals more damage than the blue version and has significantly more HP. Because of this, it’s recommended to use Nineveh’s cooldown to ensure both parties deal damage to these bosses at a similar pace.
This mechanic occurs randomly and can be used in both the Blue version and purple version. The boss will teleport to the center of the map, creating a safe spot for you to stand. Subsequently, four orbs will appear from the boss, which will go outwards and move diagonally.
Guide the orb outward from the boss, then consume the orb. After that, a whirlpool appears that either goes clockwise or counterclockwise. A pizza mechanic begins and moves towards the whirlpool. Similar to the Velganos boss, follow this pizza mechanic towards the hot tub.
That’s all the main mechanics of the Vykas Gate One fight. Mastering these mechanics takes practice, so keep trying until you can progress to the fight for Vykas Gate Two.
