Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and Alisson Becker get into a heated encounter in a 0-0 draw with Chelsea

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and Alisson Becker found themselves battling hard during their side’s goalless Premier League draw with Chelsea on Tuesday.
Liverpool were lucky at times, escaping West London to a draw after being under constant pressure from Chelsea for most of the game, with the hosts missing many decent chances. Given the high tensions, the game was bound to have some struggles.
While it is unknown when the altercation took place, the Daily Mail claimed the pair clashed after the Blues narrowly opened the scoring when Joao missed Felix an easy chance.
What happened between the two Liverpool players?
Chelsea, desperate to score, came dangerously close after a misunderstanding between Alisson and Fabinho. Captain Henderson, who isn’t shy about criticizing his team-mates, then chimed in with his thoughts on the goalkeeper.
His comments didn’t sit well with Liverpool’s number one, who responded. The pair then clashed in the box before centre-back Joel Matip intervened to end the fight.
Another incident involving Henderson happened in the first half of the same game. The midfielder yelled at Matip for not passing the ball fast enough to him. This happened when he had put himself in a decent position in the right flank. Matip, on the other hand, seemed calmer than the Brazilian.
Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce appeared to think the altercation stemmed from what transpired over the weekend. After an early advantage, the Reds were defeated 4-1 by City at the Etihad on Saturday.

Covering the game for talkSPORT, Pearce explained what happened: “It’s from Saturday; You can see the frustration there and on this occasion you are watching such a bad miss.
How is Liverpool’s season going so far?
Liverpool, hosted by leaders Arsenal on Sunday, have had a challenging season. The team failed to reach the level of performance it has become known for. It was a season marred by inconsistencies, illnesses and issues related to roster instability.
Manager Jurgen Klopp, who is usually cheerful and encouraging of his players, looked dejected after Chelsea’s stalemate and said he was “not engaged” in the top-four debate.
Klopp said in the post-game conference: “I don’t know if there’s any chance of a top 4. To do that we need to win pretty much all of our games and other teams above us need to lose a lot.”
Chelsea are also currently in a similar crisis. You recently fired Graham Potter from leadership. It was Bruno Saltor who took a temporary position in the Liverpool game. They are now looking for alternatives like Julian Nagelsmaan and Luis Enrique.
Liverpool are next up against Arsenal in the Emirates on Sunday to increase their chances of a top-four finish.
