Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes revealed that he has received calls from teams interested in getting the #2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The 2022 NFL Draft takes place on April 28, live from Las Vegas. With the event moving fast and the Pro Day ending, teams are focusing on the leads they want to pick up. To select a player, an organization may have to trade selections to move up the board.
During the NFL owners’ meeting on Tuesday, Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes revealed he’s been “in dialogue with several teams,” regarding the #2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and they “can trade if the other team is willing. ”
“I expected it to heat up,” said Holmes, via Tim Twentyman of DetriotLions.com. “Especially with the pick we have this year because it definitely heated up to 7th place last year. I expect more dialogue.”

That can certainly be good news for teams interested in finding a lead they really want. Especially those who are in need of twin midwives.
The Lions are in good form on draft capital, as they have picks 2 and 32 in the first round, second picks coming from the Los Angeles Rams in a Matthew Stafford / Jared Goff trade. By trading the second overall pick, they can move down and accumulate more NFL Draft picks that can help fill their roster more fully and build toward becoming a playoff team in the past. become a fairly open NFC.
Whether a deal happens or not remains to be seen, but Holmes is letting his colleagues know he’s open to business with pick #2 overall if the offer is right.
