Florida State Peninsula shock the Blue Devil Duke No. 6 on Tuesday night, 79-78 during overtime.
It was just another day in office for Leonard Hamilton’s club, as they have dominated at home in the ACC game for the past few years.
However, that might not even be the most impressive feat Hamilton and Florida State achieved on Tuesday.
The Seminoles have now won 13 consecutive games in extra time, an all-time record in Division I men’s basketball. That’s right, there was no one better than Hamilton’s line-up when extra time went on.
Florida State got off to a slow start this season, but has now won four games in a row and is 11-5 on the season.
Caleb Mills, Malik Osborne and Matthew Cleveland have led the Seminoles in scoring this season, but John Butler caught the eye of those in college basketball with a 14-point game against Duke.
Hamilton’s team has always been a resilient team, and Tuesday’s win could be the springboard to a run in the ACC. Right now, Seminoles is +7500 to win the national title at WynnBET, but if they can continue to pick up more quality wins this season, there’s a good chance they’ll have a high seeding in the league.
