Steven Mnuchin had a pretty good weekend.
First, Friday’s election of the finance minister moved one step closer to confirmation.
Then his latest film took first place at the box office.
Mnuchin is an executive producer at Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Batman Movie,” which grossed an estimated $55.6 million from US audiences in its opening weekend.
CNN, like Warner Bros., is owned by Time Warner.
The kid-friendly 2014 spin-off of The Lego Movie beat its raunchy competitor, Universal’s Fifty Shades Darker.
The 2015 sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, based on a best-selling romance series, debuted in the US at $46.8 million.

Mnuchin is credited with producing or executive producing 34 films in recent years, including last summer’s “Suicide Squad,” which grossed $786 million worldwide.
He also produced The Lego Ninjago Movie, another Lego franchise spin-off coming to screens this fall.
It is widely expected that Mnuchin will serve as Treasury Secretary by then.
After a 53-46 vote last Friday to break a Democratic filibuster, Mnuchin is scheduled for a final vote before the full Senate at 7 p.m. Monday.
