LeBron James was already on the radar of many analysts and TV reporters before he made it to the NBA. One was former ESPN reporter Michelle Beadle, who accused the king of trying to get the news agency to fire her when she threw the kitchen sink at him during his move to the Miami Heat. After joining the league in 2003, LeBron has since been considered “a talent in a generation.”

Until he had one of the best pictures imaginable in the league, until he made “The Decision” to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. This led to Cavs fans burning LeBron James’ jersey in the streets and a massive outpouring of criticism from the media. However, the main reason the cancellation turned into a PR nightmare for Bron was the way he announced his decision.

Michelle Beadle blamed LeBron James

It appeared LeBron James was under pressure at the time, leading to LeBron reportedly texting reporter Michelle Beadle personally, asking why she was being so mean to him. In a recent interview, she reveals details.

“I made fun of a decision, and I was one of about a billion people who did, and I remember getting a DM: ‘Why are you mean to me on TV? And I kind of laughed it off, didn’t think about it.

But it didn’t stop there. The former ESPN host even accused the Lakers star of trying to get ESPN to fire her. She went into the state, “He tried, he tried, yes. He tried to do that. I was like, ‘Wow, I’m honored to even be on your mind. Thank you sir. This is a strange place for me.’ So my things with him didn’t start personally. I made fun of ‘The Decision’ like 400,000 other Talking Heads did at the time and I think for some reason it was. So it wasn’t personal at first. It’s obvious now it will always be personal.”

What added even more solidarity to this accusation was that LeBron never came out to defend himself. Preferring to avoid the same question when asked during pre-game or post-game interviews.
