LeBron James, Kevin Durant are fanboying all over Mike Williams

NBA stars LeBron James and Kevin Durant were impressed by the performance of Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The first Thursday night football game of the 2022 season featured an AFC West matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Chargers from Los Angeles. The last time these teams met, they went into overtime and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had a long catch-and-run walk-off touchdown. There will always be a player who stands out in what are usually tense games between the Chiefs and the Chargers.

That game featured one player, Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams, who was the team’s best wideout as Keenan Allen was out with a hamstring injury. One of the many catches that WIlliams had, who should already be a contender for catch of the year, is his sneaky touchdown reception in the third quarter that extended the Chargers’ lead to 17-7.

Williams caught the attention of many fans watching Thursday Night Football. He also received great praise from NBA stars LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

That 10-point lead after the Williams touchdown vanished. The Chiefs cut the lead to 17-14 with an incredible 41-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Justin Watson in the third quarter. Matt Amendola officially leveled the game after scoring a 19-yard field goal. Then the Chiefs took a 24-17 lead after rookie cornerback Jaylen Watson intercepted Justin Herbert and returned 99 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.

Despite the outcome of the game, Williams has gained some new fans following his Week 2 performance.
