LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo named captains as NBA announces All-Star Game starters returning to Salt Lake City

The 72nd NBA All-Star Game is coming up and will be played on February 19th in Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be a day to remember for Salt Lake City residents as they witness an All-Star Game after thirty years!
The NBA All-Star starters have already been announced Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo as permanent captains of the distinguished Western and Eastern Conference teams.
Additionally, LeBron James has been around since the time Captaincy was brought into the game. It is King James’ fifth appearance as captain, the most of any player as he is the only captain of the Western Conference to date.
On the other hand, Giannis is the permanent captain of the East for the third year in a row.
Who else is on the starter teams?
This year, many players have shown what they can do on the field, so choosing the starting team was quite difficult. The NBA’s starting lineup—three frontcourts and two guards from each conference—was determined by a trifecta of fan votes (50%), media votes (25%), and player votes (25%).
The players who made the West Conference Starters Team are-
- LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers)
- Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
- Zion Williamson (New Orleans Pelicans)
- Stephen CurryGolden State Warriors
- Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks)

On the other hand, the East Conference Starters team includes the following players:

- Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets)
- Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)

If teams weren’t exciting enough, LeBron James will make history again in the All-Star Game.
What records is James breaking in the All-Star Game?
In the All-Star Game, LeBron will break two records when he eventually takes part in the game. First, he is now linked with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Kobe Bryant for the most features in All-Star games, having played 18 games each. Abdul-Jabbar would have been the top of the tree had he not refused to play in the 1973 game.
Nonetheless, James will break the record with 19 games.
Then there’s the record for most starts, LeBron is already up with eighteen starts, leaving Kobe in second place. Bryant was on 15 starter teams.
