LeBron James’ 5-word reaction to Anthony Davis’ injury

The Los Angeles Lakers multi-prepared exhausted when they entered the Target Center on Friday night to face Minnesota Timberwolves. Five players in COVID-19 health and safety protocols, and Trevor Ariza – while in question and dressed – remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

Things took a turn for the worse in 48 minutes of action.

Anthony Davis – who missed two games earlier this week because of left knee pain and has been listed on the injury report with eight different diseases this season – suffered two injuries in the Lakers’ 110-92 loss. (It’s the team of second failure for Wolves this season.)

In the first half, Davis fell awkwardly on his right ankle. He limped into the dressing room before returning a quarter later. Edema.

In the third round, Wolves winger Jaden McDaniels accidentally fell on Davis’ left knee. The Lakers All-Star writhed painfully and was forced to leave the game. He was spotted struggling to find his way through the tunnel before being ruled out during the night with a knee injury.

Then, Frank Vogel and LeBron James talked about AD’s trauma, although they don’t have much to offer, other than hope.

“He’s seen the team doctor here and he’s going to be evaluated tomorrow (in Chicago) with an MRI, and we’ll know at that point,” Vogel said. “Hopefully it’s something small and he can be back soon, but we’ll know more tomorrow.”

LeBron said he spoke briefly with AD after the game.

“We asked him how he was, and he said, ‘We’ll find out more tomorrow.’ So that’s all we know.”

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported positive news about Davis’ knee shortly after the game ended.

Obviously, we’ll keep you informed of the AD news when it arrives on Saturday.
