Leaders Sign Free Agent Expansion After Tyreek Hill Deal

After trading Tyreek Hill for the Miami Dolphins, the Kansas City Sheriffs brought in Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a three-year contract.

Since the time Chief of Kansas City transaction Tireek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, fans called on general manager Brett Veach to introduce Patrick Mahomes. Those people got their wish.

According to Tom Pelissero, Marquez Valdes-Scantling is of great interest to the defending champions AFC West on a three-year contract. The former Packer will catch the ball from Aaron Rodgers to Patrick Mahomes.

Valdes-Scantling’s interest from the Chiefs has surfaced recently and it seems the two sides are getting closer and closer to an agreement. With Hill currently in Miami, pressure is on Veach to make sure he can find a suitable replacement for attack.

While Hill is on a different level than Valdes-Scantling, MVS is known for its terrifying speed. There have been several times in the last season that Rodgers has found him deep in the pitch for a big profit. Speaking of Rodgers, he certainly doesn’t like to see this news.

First, Rodgers saw that his good friend Davante Adams had traded with the Las Vegas Raiders, and now Valdes-Scantling was joining the Chiefs. For Kansas City, Valdes-Scantling joining Juju Smith-Schuster is a key addition to the air attack this season.

For Kansas City, this was the right move and the contract numbers make things even better. According to FanSided’s Matt Verderame, Valdes-Scantling’s contract is broken into two years for $18 million, with a third year considered a team option.

This is a pretty reasonable deal for a player with Valdes-Scantling’s potential. Chief fans can’t wait to see what he can do now that he’ll be working with Mahomes.
