McLaren driver Lando Norris is ready to compete in Formula 1 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku and claimed he was well healed after two weeks of racing, although he was also ill.
The Brit has had to race in Monaco and Barcelona while in pain from tonsillitis, but he has now fully recovered and is looking forward to this weekend’s much-anticipated Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.

“It’s cool to be on a different street circuit and last year’s race showed that anything can happen. It will be great to see what we can achieve with the new cars at this unique track.” said the 22-year-old driver.

“After the weekend off I feel completely normal again and have recovered well after two tough weeks. I’m excited to see what I can do in this next double header, so let’s get started!” concluded Norris.

Teammate Daniel Ricciardo had another disheartening race weekend at Monaco, where a crash in FP2 removed him even further as he qualified 14th and finished 13th, while Norris surpassed him again to qualify fifth and finish sixth.

“I’m a big fan of the Baku Circuit, it has some exciting features and it’s always a fun battle at Turn 1 where there’s often three cars going side by side at the end.” said Ricciardo in an interview ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

“There are a few different ways we can play it strategically this weekend but track position for turning out the lights on Sunday will be important, even with the overtaking opportunities offered by the longest straight on the calendar.” he added.
