Lance Stephenson bursts in and blows LeBron James’ ear

Prior to Los Angeles Lakers Player Lance Stephenson recently discussed his infamous LeBron James ear-blowing moment. The two faced each other in game 5 of the 2014 Eastern Conference finals. LeBron played for Miami Heat at the time, and Stephenson was playing in his first stint with the Pacers. Regarding the infamous scene, Stephenson said (via HypeHoops):
“I was not prepared in advance. It’s all in the flow of the game. Being out there, competing. Everyone in the league is competitive, and wants it; to win the game. Sometimes you do whatever it takes to win the game. That guy is a tough guy to protect, so you have to bring all yours, and that’s what I did. ”
The Pacers went on to win the game 93-90 with Stephenson scoring 12 points. LeBron was limited to just 7 points in the same game, so Stephenson’s strategy must have worked. The Heat eventually won this series, however, only to lose San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
This series is the second year in a row the Pacers and Heat have met in the Conference Finals. With LeBron being his regular opponent, Stephenson discussed what it was like to defend the former Heat player:
“I tested him and saw how tough he could play. If he will bow or bow. And guys like that, with that kind of talent, never bow. It’s an experience of learning, playing and competing against the best. ”
Lance Stephenson, who was Lakers teammates with LeBron James in his final NBA season, was recently placed 13th overall in the G League draft by Grand Rapids Gold. He is currently working on NBA is back.
