Lakers’ Austin Reaves hilariously debunks LeBron James’ perfectly healthy demand to buy an Xbox controller

Being a rookie in the NBA is no cakewalk, especially when you’re trying to make your mark on and off the field. Austin Reaves knew this all too well when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers last season. But he didn’t expect to get off so lightly with the vets on the team.
In a recent interview on the Point Forward podcast, Reaves revealed that Rondo was the only player who actually asked him to run errands for him. He also spoke about LeBron James’ request to run an errand.
What did Reeves say about LeBron James’ claim?
He shared that LeBron James once asked him to do his job like Rondo used to do. But then he would make up for his troubles. He shared that James is actually very low maintenance. And only once did he get him to get an Xbox remote. James gave him a few dollars for it.
“He (Rondo) was the one who would mostly ask me to get stuff, so he’d give me a few bucks when I came back. But other than that, Brons (LeBron James) is really really low maintenance. I think he once asked me to get an Xbox remote, so obviously I did. He gave me a few bucks, but they made me skate pretty good.”
It implies that LeBron James is not demanding or high maintenance other than occasionally asking the Reeves to get something for him. It also implies that Reeves can generally avoid doing too much for LeBron James as they are allowed to “skate pretty well,” meaning they are given a lot of leeway or freedom.

Reaves had a relatively smooth ride in his rookie season and the 24-year-old quickly became a fan favorite with his brave play on the pitch. Now in his second season, he has thrived, posting impressive numbers and attracting the attention of several teams in the league.
Austin Reeves could leave Lakers
Reaves is reportedly targeting a lucrative 3-year deal worth around 50 million dollars, which could spark a bidding war between interested teams. The Lakers may be hoping Reaves stays with them for less money, but it’s understandable that he wants to make as much money as possible.
Despite his impressive achievements reaves is a restricted free agent, meaning the Lakers can match any offer he receives. However, if they’re not willing to pay, they could lose one of their rising stars to a team willing to give them what they’re worth.
