Lady Gaga cancels Miami concert due to lightning strike

A tropical thunderstorm forced Lady Gaga to abandon her Miami concert just before she could sing “Rain on Me” and her encore, “Hold My Hand.” Gaga, who performed to a sold-out crowd on this stadium tour, was at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the final night of the Chromatica Ball.

She interrupts her show told the audience“I’m sorry we can’t finish, but I don’t want to put your life at risk and I don’t want to put our life at risk.”

Gaga then posted an emotional video online. Through tears, she apologizes to her fans and says, “We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami.” She continued that lightning strikes hit too close to the ground, she, her crew and her fans.

Referring to her song “Rain on Me,” a collaboration with Ariana Grande, Gaga said that as much as she wanted to sing the song in the rain, she “cared about life now in a way I haven’t for a long time.” Time.”

“What I really want is to be responsible and loving as well,” she said, referring to the safety of the thousands in attendance and her team. “I don’t know what I would do if something happened to someone in the audience or a member of my crew, my band [or] my dancers.”

“The flash was unpredictable and changing from moment to moment,” the singer wrote in the caption of another Instagram post. “See some of you called me ‘mother monster’ for years, in my heart I knew it was better to protect you. Thank you for believing in me.”

Fans are waiting for the concert shared photos on social media after being notified that the show was postponed due to inclement weather. Spectators were asked to take shelter in the hall.

Gaga has taken her Chromatica Ball Tour around the world, playing in Europe, Asia and North America. Just last week she played in front of 52,000 spectators at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The tour was originally announced for 2020 but was postponed to 2022 due to COVID.

While working on the Joker sequel in Joker: Folie à Deux, where she will play Harley Quinn, Gaga promises, “Chromatica will never be over because Chromatica is about healing.”
