PSG star Mbappe reportedly had a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of the transfer window over his staying at the club. He turned down Real Madrid after finalizing the deal with PSG days after speculation about his move to Real Madrid was settled.

One of the reasons behind Mbappe’s decision to stay at PSG was the relationship between the Qatar World Cup 2022 and the club’s Qatari owners, according to some sources. The French President advised Mbappe to stay at the Parc des Princes because he is considered a national hero in France and could be in the spotlight when the 2024 Olympics kick off in the country’s capital.

Mbappe has agreed to a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2025. He will now be the highest paid player in the world, earning £1million every week. Mbappe will also receive a whopping £110m signing fee as per his new deal.

There will also be other incentives, including image rights concessions. Although there is only one year left on his contract, Real Mbappe have offered a huge amount of money in the summer of 2021. Mbappe called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and informed him directly about his decision to stay at PSG.
