Kurt Angle Says He Beat Brock Lesnar In A Real Amateur Wrestling Match

WWE Hall Of Famer/Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle was a guest on Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast this week.

Angle said of his off-screen wrestling match with Brock Lesnar:

Angle said, “A few months ago, the Brooklyn Brawler came up to Brock and said, ‘What do you think you would do with Kurt Angle if you guys had a wrestling match?’ He said, ‘I’m going to kill him. He’s too small. I’m a hundred pounds heavier than him’. Brawler came to me and said, ‘Brock said he would crush you if you guys wrestled.’ I walked out onto the ring and Brock was out there, and he was wearing sandals. I said, ‘Brock, are you going to kick my ass?’ He said, ‘Um, I’m so much older than you.’ I said, ‘Well, let’s get into the ring now.’ He said, ‘Well, I don’t have my shoes. I put on shoes. ‘ I said, ‘Let’s go barefoot.’ Brock said, ‘No, I don’t want to do that.’

Angle continued, “So a couple of weeks later, we were in Fargo, ND, and Brock’s was on the Big Show. He’s destroying the Big Show. The Big Show weighed 530 pounds at the time. This is unbelievable. Brock was picking him up and smacking him on the back. Now I’m getting nervous. I was like, holy sh*t. Maybe it’s good that I don’t get into the ring with him. I saw Big Show, and Brock turned to me, and Big Show was on the other side of Brock in the ring. Big Show looked at me and I said, ‘Get out.’ He said, ‘Ok’, and he was out. I approached Brock and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and I said, ‘Let’s go.’ Now don’t get me wrong, I’m so scared because he threw the Big Show around like the Big Show was nothing.

“We started going in, and it was really tight. Rumor has it that I kicked his**, embarrassed him, and pinned him 10 times. Measure is not true. I beat him twice. He didn’t knock me down at all. It was a very close match. We had a nice 15 minutes, but Brock is a monster. He is a real person. I’m bragging that I hit him that night (he laughs). I beat a UFC champion. It’s true. ”
