Kofi Kingston reacts to Big E’s horrific injury » FirstSportz

E and Kingston

Big E and Kofi Kingston are two-thirds of one of the largest professional wrestling tag teams in WWE history. Along with Xavier Woods, they are part of The New Day. They are 11-time tag team champions and have held the Smackdown Tag Team Championship a record seven times. Additionally, they also hold the record for longest reign as tag team champions, with a reign of 483 days.

But in the last few years all members have been given the opportunity to get a singles push. The first to get it was Kofi Kingston, but the best by far was Big E. He was drawn from The New Day in the WWE Draft – and won the Money in the Bank Ladder match in 2021.

But his first WWE Championship came to an abrupt end on Day 1 when Brock Lesnar pinned him in the Fatal 5-Way Match. Since then, he and Kingston have been spotted back in action as tag team partners. On a recent episode of Smackdown, E was dropped on his head during a botched move by Ridge Holland.

Big E suffered a fracture in his spine. It was easily one of the scariest moments an athlete could ever experience in their career. Kofi Kingston was there when the terrible accident happened. In a recent interview with Hot 97, he revealed his reaction when his tag team partner was part of the botch.

“It was easily the scariest night of my career… I was like what’s happening all of a sudden, the paramedics and everything is coming out. It was just really scary because it reminds us how quickly things can take a turn for the worse. There is always an element of danger involved in every move we make and thankfully we mostly escape unscathed, but in those moments we literally look my brother in the face as the paramedics don the neck brace and everything to get him on the stretcher , you know, it was very scary.” said Kingston.

Big E is in good spirits

Big E

Former WWE Champion Big E is at his home recovering. Luckily, as he mentioned, he didn’t have to undergo surgery. E continues to keep his fans updated via Twitter. He’d even posted a video of himself walking the streets, which is pretty encouraging.

“I got air into my lungs, it’s a beautiful day, got out my taco meat and chest hair. So that’s what’s going on in my life. My neck may be broken, but my heart is still in there.” he mentioned. You can watch the full video above.
