Patrick Mouratoglou, founder of the Mouratoglou tennis academies, former coach of Serena Williams and Stefanos Tsitsipas recently reacted to this year’s Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios.
Reacting to Djokovic’s stance in court, he said: “It was two games in one. I’m sure experience played a big part, there was never any panic. He started to let himself be led in many games and kept his composure. His refusal to lose is, if not the best in the world, one of Rafael Nadal’s best.”
He also commented on the Serb’s tactical understanding of the game, “The ability to return matches, to find solutions. The stakes were too important to be that solid. His tactical knowledge was important in the final. He knew exactly what to do and it took him one sentence to understand it.”
