Kmart Shopper mind-blowing hack will change the way you use garlic

Calling all garlic lovers – a Kmart shopper shared a tip on how to store and prepare your own supply of the flavor-enhancing onion, ready for your next meal.

When they posted their handy hack on the Kmart Home Decor & Hacks Australia Facebook group, other garlic fanatics were excited about the woman’s idea.

“We tend to use a lot of garlic around our house — if something calls for two cloves, I usually add 10,” she wrote in the post.

“I buy garlic cloves in 500g bags. This time I figured I’d grab a few for busy nights.”

The woman placed four cups of garlic cloves and half a cup of oil in a food processor and processed them into a paste.

“I then put them in the Kmart ice tray, froze them, and then put them in a zip-top freezer bag,” she said.

“One ice cube is roughly equivalent to one teaspoon of crushed garlic.”

The woman said that the garlic cubes can be stored in the freezer for between six and 12 months.

“I have a few cloves in my freezer from last year, but I don’t find them that potent,” she said.

Members of the group loved the woman’s garlic ice cubes.

“You can never have too much garlic,” said one.

“Great idea. I’ve always made a garlic butter in the freezer. It’s great for slicing and layering a steak, melting it, as well as baking garlic bread,” wrote another.

“I absolutely love this hack! I also add too much garlic cloves – it might be a bit of an addiction lol,” said a third.
