Top transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ‘very happy’ with Thiago Alcantara as the Spaniard begins to show signs that he will settle down at Anfield.
The former Barcelona player, who was signed from Bayern Munich last September but has suffered from Covid-19 and ongoing injury problems since his arrival on Merseyside, has been linked with a move back to the Catalan club in recent months.
“They are very happy with Thiago Alcantara, and I want to mention that because of his incredible goal in the Champions League,” Romano said on his popular Here We Go Podcast (via HITC).
“There have been rumors about Barcelona but, let me be clear, Barcelona have no contact with Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is happy with Thiago.
“Given how well Thiago has recovered from injury, it hasn’t been easy for him to adapt to English football, but now it seems like the perfect process,” he said.
No. 6 is in great form at the moment and scored an unbelievable goal against Porto recently.
His ability to control the game and determine the tempo is a result of his practical ability and it has been shown recently that we are the stronger team when he is in the starting XI.
I don’t think many of us really read too much into the rumors linking the 30-year-old back to the Camp Nou but it’s nice to hear that Romano put an end to those rumours.
Hopefully the conductor in midfield can continue to show at the levels he’s had at the end of the year and stay fit as we push through both the Premier League and Champions League.
