Kentucky Basketball Fans Want John Calipari Fired After Round 1 Defeat

After an incredible loss to Saint Peter’s in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, Kentucky Wildcats fans wanted John Calipari to pack up and leave.

Welcome to March Madness. Tonight’s show featured Kentucky Wildcats fans calling for the firing of basketball coach John Calipari.

After a staggering 85-79 loss in extra time to the Peacocks, a 15-seeded, 2nd-seeded Wildcats were disqualified, and needless to say, the Cat’s Boards were less suspenseful.

God, have mercy. People in Lexington have every right to be mad, as this is the second time in a row that a 15th seed has beaten a 2nd seed. Last year, Max Abmas and Oral Roberts knocked out EJ Liddell and Ohio State.

For all the good Calipari has done in terms of recruiting talent to send to the NBA, there’s only been two times he’s played for the national championship, a loss to UConn in 2014 and his only win. he was when he had Anthony Davis and an upstart Michael Kidd-Gilchrist against Thomas Robinson and the Kansas Jayhawks.

Since then, those have been unfulfilled promises, including the 38-1 event against Wisconsin a few years ago. Against the Peacocks, it’s pretty much the same. The game was ended at half way at 37. As per the final rule, the same deal. In injury time, the Wildcats’ troubles and foul revenue ultimately proved to be their downfall.

While this is certainly a great moment for Peacocks players and fans alike, Wildcat Nation will refuse to accept that fact. This loss could make John Calipari no longer head coach. But who could they take to replace him if he really leaves? Time will tell what comes next, but the boards have made their positions clear.
