Kenny Pickett is finally giving fans a glimpse into the future

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett finally provided a highlight for the fans on Wednesday afternoon with an impressive two-minute drill.
The pressure on Picket, at this point, is not fair. But it comes with the territory.
Pickett went to college in Pittsburgh, and although his high school is in Monmouth County, New Jersey, he’s considered a local product because Steelers fans know him so well. When he was drafted in the first round, the reaction was positive, and draft parties across Steel City erupted in approval.
This was finally a chance to right the wrongs of not picking then-Pitt product Dan Marino — or at least that’s what Steelers fans do.
However, the actual process of creating a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback is far more difficult than just talking.
Steelers: Kenny Pickett’s struggles are well documented
Pickett’s boot camp experience was a whirlwind. Like most rookie quarterbacks, he’s struggled to adjust to a new offense at the professional level.
Unlike most rookie quarterbacks, he hasn’t received the same kind of support or praise that one might expect from the organization that drafted him. Pittsburgh lists Pickett as a third leg behind Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph. While these two players have plenty of NFL experience, Steelers fans hoped Pickett would at least surpass the latter.
Neither Trubisky nor Rudolph inspire much confidence. Still, there could still be hope. Pickett’s practice Wednesday offers a rare glimmer of hope in the form of a two-minute drive.
At least there is some positivity in Pittsburgh regarding the productivity of their first-round draft pick.
Eventually, Pickett will get his chance. But it is unknown if that will be in the Start of the pre-season in this week.
