Ken Griffey Jr.’s Zoom background is a perennial favorite

MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr. may have just changed the game again, this time about how athletes are interviewed on Zoom.

Ken Griffey Jr. sat down with CBS Sports’ Ryan Fagon for a Zoom interview Tuesday morning, and instead of a standard green screen backdrop, Griffey opted to show off his impressive trophy case in full.

Fagon was so impressed he snapped a photo and shared it on Twitter.

During the interview, Fagon spoke about Griffey’s background and Griffey responded by mentioning that the scenery would have been very different if he had been interviewing in his garage.

“Well, I can go to my garage and we can match. You don’t want to see my garage now. We’re doing spring cleaning,” Griffey Jr. replied.

Ken Griffey Jr.’s “Gold Glove” trophy case is a demonstration of his distinguished career

Griffey was a great player whose career in MLB spanned 22 years. He has played with the Seattle Mariners, the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox. So it’s no shock that he’s amassed an impressive collection of trophies and awards. Griffey has won 10 Gold Glove Awards, seven Silver Slugger Awards, an MVP Award and a host of other awards.

Griffey’s Zoom background only appeared to show the Gold Glove trophies. But another space likely occupies more of its many accolades.

Fans will have to wait and see if Griffey shows this room in another Zoom interview. Ken Griffey Jr.’s Zoom background is a perennial favorite
