A woman involved in a controversial disappearance has died. Little Kelsey Died March 13 in Manchester, New Hampshire, Manchester Police say Heather Hamel.

“Her cause of death is pending, but it is not being considered suspicious,” she said.

Small got caught up in the search Harmony Montgomery because she was dating the child’s father Adam Montgomery31. The 5-year-old girl was last seen in 2019 and will now be 7, only to be reported missing after about two years. No one has been charged in her disappearance.

Officers said they found Adam’s father with Small on December 31 of last year when they arrested him for second-degree assault for allegedly hitting Harmony. He allegedly hacked investigators, who were trying to find the young girl safe.

“I have nothing else to say,” he said, according to an affidavit.

Small said she knew about her boyfriend’s four children but she had no information about them and Adam had never talked about Harmony, police said previously.

“I have no comment on the case of missing person Harmony Montgomery,” Hamel told Law & Crime on Wednesday.

Police initially said Harmony hasn’t been seen since October 2019, but they have moved her timeline to the period from November 28 to December 10, 2019. She was only recently released. reported missing, the police announced in early January 2022.

Witnesses claimed to have seen Harmony with the couple in the days that followed, but she was no longer with them between December 6 and 10 of that year. Adam and Kayla Montomgery have only two children with them, police said.

This father is accused give Harmony a black eye before she disappears. He is said to have told his uncle Kevin Montgomery, “I beat her around this house.” From the affidavit:

Kevin recalls other abusive forms of discipline during that time frame that concerned him. Kevin recalls [Harmony] hit hard in the butt, [Harmony] forced to stand in the machine for hours, and Adam ordered [Harmony] to scrub the toilet with her toothbrush.

Meanwhile, Kayla Montgomery charged with theft by deception and mild welfare fraud for allegedly taking $1,500 in food stamp benefits on behalf of the missing girl. She is said to have told police she last saw Harmony in November or December 2019 before leaving for work.

Child’s biological mother Crystal Sorey was not suspected in her disappearance. Officials said she lost custody of Harmony in 2018 due to substance abuse. She said the last time she saw the child was in a video chat around Easter 2019, authorities said. According to the affidavit against Adam Montgomery, she regained her sanity, but Adam and Kayla blocked her on social media and on the phone.

“Crystal said for many years she tried to locate the child by contacting various schools and driving to addresses related to Adam, but was unable to make any progress. any,” the officials said.
