Karloo: Three-year-old boy seriously injured after being hit by a car in Geraldton, WA

A toddler remains hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a car in midwestern WA.

Police said the three-year-old was sitting on the outskirts of Aaron Cl in Karloo, a suburb of Geraldton, when he was hit by a white Hyundai i30 hatchback on Tuesday night.

Reports that the boy was dragged under the vehicle are being investigated, authorities said.

St John was called to the scene just after 6pm on Tuesday and paramedics provided initial treatment before taking him to Geraldton Hospital under Priority 1 conditions.

The boy was then taken to Perth via the Royal Flying Doctor Service at around 1.40am.

He remains in critical condition under the watchful eyes of doctors at Perth Children’s Hospital.

Police said a 46-year-old man is assisting in the investigation, which is being led by senior crash officers.

Authorities are still working out the circumstances surrounding the crash and have urged anyone with information to contact police.
