Karine Silva submits Poliana Botelho in UFC debut

Karine Silva wins her first UFC fight in the closing seconds of round one, beating Poliana Botelho at UFC Vegas 56

Karine Silva gave herself a warm welcome ufc at UFC Vegas 56, scored a submission from Poliana Botelho with five seconds remaining in the first round.

Both women started the match with powerful kicks, with Botelho seemingly gaining the upper hand once she threw in jabs.

Silva, but late on cut off Botelho with his right hand, bringing her down. Silva then sank in a D’arce choke to claim the submission win.

Silva’s D’Arce choke win is only the second via the switch in UFC women’s history. Tatiana Suarez had the first in May 2018 against Alexa Grasso.
