The Kansas Jayhawks overcame a 16-point deficit and defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 72-69 to win the 2022 NCAA national championship.

As is tradition, each year at the end of the NCAA national championship game, a designated music video is played, highlighting all of the tournament’s incredible moments and massive upsets. The official highlight reel is played with “One Shining Moment”.

The music video showcased the magical run of the Saint Peter’s Peacocks, the underdog team that defeated Kentucky, Murray State and Purdue to finish first at No. 15 in the Elite Eight.

Duke had a deep run in the NCAA tournament en route to giving head coach Mike Krzyzewski his sixth national title before officially retiring at the end of the season. They passed CSU Fullerton, Michigan State, Texas Tech and Arkansas to make the Final Four. Their run eventually ended in the national semifinals when they lost to rival Tar Heels.

North Carolina was the dream killer of the tournament. They eliminated defending champions Baylor Bears, sent Saint Peter’s home and practically bade farewell to Coach K for ultimate bragging rights.

Villanova under Jay Wright are known winners when they make it to the NCAA tournament. In fact, they’ve only lost three games in their last six trips. They were looking to win their third national title in that span but fell to the Jayhawks in the Final Four.

Kansas went through Texas Southern, Creighton, Providence, Miami (Fla.) and the Wildcats to reach the national title game and eventually win it all in exciting fashion.
