Kansas Jayhawks fans celebrated the team’s NCAA national championship win against the North Carolina Tar Heels by storming the court at Allen Fieldhouse.
The Kansas Jayhawks fan base waited 14 years for a national championship. They came close in 2012 but ended up going against the Kentucky Wildcats. But now they are celebrating after an exciting game.
On Monday, the Jayhawks overcame a 16-point deficit and defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 72-69 to win the program’s fourth national title.
As the celebrations began, the Kansas basketball Twitter account shared a photo of fans storming the court at Allen Fieldhouse.

Kansas fans didn’t just party at the Allen Fieldhouse. They also partied on the streets of Lawrence.
The Jayhawks went into halftime trailing 40-25 to the Tar Heels, who seemed red hot and ready to claim their seventh national title. But the No. 1 from the Midwest region woke up in the second half, took back the lead and held off a North Carolina comeback attempt to win.
David McCormack had 15 points (7 of 15 from the field) and 10 rebounds to secure the double-double. Guard Remy Martin scored 14 points off the bench (5-for-9 from the field).
