Justin Turner goes all out at Cirque du Soleil to go tomboy

Dodgers veteran Justin Turner is less known for his glove than his bat, but that didn’t stop him from making a wild circus catch against the Rockies.

Justin Turner has been an integral part of the Los Angeles Dodgers since the 2014 season. The 37-year veteran remains a staple of one of baseball’s busiest rosters. His racquet is absolutely invaluable for what LA wants to achieve, which is winning another World Series.

His glove, on the other hand, isn’t exactly what most people would consider his game’s forte, especially considering he’s nearing 40 years of age.

While that’s mostly the case, Turner showed the leather in a matchup against the Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday. Turner was chasing down a foul ball hit on the third base side and showed some acrobatics as he reached in and out of the dugout to pull off an incredible hold that dangled it over the edge of the railing.

Does Turner have a secret career as an acrobat or contortionist that he doesn’t tell us about? The evidence is right before your eyes.

Considering Turner has a career dWAR (Defensive Wins Above Replacements) of just 0.9 – which pales in comparison to his 33.6 oWAR, it certainly comes as a bit of a shock to see him make a game like this see. That almost makes it even more attractive.

What’s not encouraging, however, is that after beating Colorado in the series opener, the Dodgers struggled to get going on Saturday when they were down 2-1 in the eighth inning. Just think how much worse this could have been if Turner hadn’t pulled such pieces out of his bag of tricks. Justin Turner goes all out at Cirque du Soleil to go tomboy
