The opening Goal Cup Race was pure entertainment as the intense battles on and off the track made it one of the most interesting race weekends in recent memory NASCAR. Team Penske Racing veteran Joey Logano rode his No.: 22 Ford Mustang on the road to victory surpassing his former teammate Kyle Bush and in the process secured his second win of the season after last month’s Darlington.

But it wasn’t the intense duel between former team-mates that grabbed the big headlines that day, it was the overly aggressive driving style put forward by another multiple race winner this season, the #1 Trackhouse race driver Ross Chastain. That ‘watermelon man went all for his win and he went on veteran Denny Hamlin and Chase Eliot hard during race day.

Both drivers were clearly not happy with the driver’s excessive aggression and although Chastain apologized for his actions on track, Denny Hamlin was quick to warn him about dislocation and hinted that his revenge would be timely and costly for Chastain. Now Trackhouse Racing co-owner Justin Marks has backed his driver and warned that the team is ready for whatever challenges come their way.

Justin Marks admitted he’s proud of Chastain’s aggression and suggested he probably beat himself up a little too badly after the race. He went on to say that while he doesn’t want to see wrecked cars in NASCAR, he certainly doesn’t want that to happen between fun races where drivers go at each other.

I’m proud of his aggression. I think he probably banged his head about it a little too much after the race. I don’t want to see cars crash. We certainly don’t want to see that. But I just don’t know. I don’t want him to slow down or take aggression because it’s exciting for all of us to watch‘ Justin Marks told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Justin Marks went on to say he is ready for any action that comes against his driver and indicated he is in discussion with team owner and driver Denny Hamlin. He pointed out that he knows there’s a lot of drama and talk surrounding the drama and controversy showing it will be fun to see if the talks really materialize.

Honestly, that’s what I’m here for. I’m ready. I mean, Denny is texting me right now while we’re actually talking. And you know, it’s the drama, the controversy. I guess there’s a lot of talk in this sport, right? We spend a lot of time telling everyone what we’re going to do and not a lot of time doing it. So if you want to play it will be funadded Justin Marks.

He went on to say that he is a fan of the sport and the things his team puts out there provide fans with the entertainment they crave, something he enjoys doing. He called out the challenges and said if they want to fight they are ready and will not shy away from it. Justin Marks said he ended up not being the one driving the car so everyone will have to wait and see what happens next.

I’m a big fan of the sport. I love entertaining fans and doing things that get the conversation going. So if we want to fight, let’s fight. I won’t shy away from that. But again, at the end of the day, I don’t drive the car myself. Well, I don’t know. Lets see what happens,‘ says Justin Marks.
