Justin Jefferson is ready to prove he’s better than Cooper Kupp on Kevin O’Connell’s offense

Justin Jefferson is so excited to play for Kevin O’Connell and run the same offense that helped propel Cooper Kupp into a superstar.
Minnesota Vikings Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson is excited to do the same Los Angeles Rams Offensive under new head coach Kevin O’Connell where Cooper Kupp thrived.
There is no doubt about it. The LSU third-year pro is more talented than Kupp. However, the Rams’ No. 1 wide receiver won and took home the triple crown a year ago super bowl 56 MVP honors as well. Jefferson had played for defensively-focused Mike Zimmer for the previous two seasons, but he’s excited to be working with the promising head coach.
Here’s what the Vikings’ #1 wide receiver had to say about the new crime his team is running now.
“Now I understand why Coop has been open so many times … It’s so wonderful to be on that type of offense,” Jefferson said of Minnesota’s new offense on the NFL Network.
O’Connell was part of a Super Bowl team, but he wasn’t the straw that stirred the drink in LA
While Jefferson should have plenty of success on this offensive, O’Connell isn’t Sean McVay just yet.
Justin Jefferson can’t wait to commit the same offense Cooper Kupp just did
While it’s easy to see how O’Connell will frame his Minnesota offensive over what worked in Los Angeles, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. While Minnesota might have the better former Florida State star on running back, O’Connell needs to prove he really is a bigger version of McVay. But perhaps most importantly, Kirk Cousins needs to get to Matthew Stafford’s level. Good luck man!
Minnesota, like Los Angeles, should be a playoff team. Heck, if arch-rival Green Bay Packers don’t excite, the Vikings can win the NFC North and host a home playoff game or two. However, the Vikings have their first head coach in O’Connell and their first general manager in Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who chose O’Connell as his man over his former NFL Colleague Jim Harbaugh.
Ultimately, a similar offensive scheme to the Rams could help the Vikings get over the hump. Unfortunately, that may not be enough to eclipse Green Bay in the division. For a franchise that’s had a complete changing of the guard at the helm, Vikings still face absurd pressures all things considered. It would be disappointing to miss the NFC Playoffs for the third straight year.
Jefferson needs to be a catalyst on the Vikings’ offense if Minnesota is to achieve the unlikely.
