After Diogo Jota’s winning goal in the 78th minute that sent Liverpool to the FA Cup semi-finals, Jürgen Klopp had the say in the next game against rivals Manchester City.
The Reds are still struggling for a quadruple win this season after narrowing the gap to just a single point in the Premier League table.
Jürgen Klopp said in the post-match interview after the 1-0 win at The City Ground: “We have Watford, Benfica, City, Benfica, City, United, Everton (after the international break).
“From a Liverpool perspective, these are all massive games and we try to play them individually rather than all together.
“We knew before the game that City would be the opponents if we wanted to go to the final anyway. Now let’s go.
“The further you get in each competition, the more likely you are to face City at some point.
“I don’t think we’re the dream lot for anyone but it’s going to be a tough draw and we need to make sure it’s tough for City too.
“But before that, there are still many games to play,” said the manager of Liverpool FC.
The quarter-final against Nottingham Forest wasn’t as easy as Klopp and his boys expected. This was the first meeting between the two storied English clubs in 23 years.

Jota’s cheeky finish helped Jürgen Klopp and his men to advance to the next round
Nottingham missed offensive chances that pursued them in the closing stages of the game when Diogo Jota fired a Konstantinos Tsimikas cross into Nottingham’s back net.
Jurgen Klopp added to his comments: “It was the game we expected, especially when you don’t take your chances,
“We could have played better but we should have scored in the first half. If we had scored earlier it would have been a completely different game.
“All credit to Steve (Cooper) and Nottingham Forest, a top performance, super professional, super organised.
“It was a great atmosphere. Everything was prepared to hit us too, but because we were prepared for a fight, we came through.”
Liverpool now face a tough test as they look to increase their chances of winning the quadruple. In the span of two weeks, Jurgen Klopp’s side have twice met quarter-final opponents SL Benfica and also Manchester City, once in the league and then in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
These weeks could be pivotal for Liverpool and crucial to their chances of winning multiple silver medals as well as the Carabao Cup which they previously won by beating Chelsea in a thrilling penalty shootout.
