Jurgen Klopp deserves no hate after UCL final defeat

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t deserve the hate for losing to Real Madrid in the UCL final. That’s why he remains one of the best coaches in the world.

No coach or player should feel ashamed of losing the Champions League final. This is especially true when you lose to Real Madrid.

So why does Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp get so much hate?

It’s only normal for fans to go after a coach after a loss. That doesn’t mean it’s earned.

“Obviously not everyone in the dressing room feels like it’s a great season and maybe they need a few minutes or a few hours,” says Klopp told reporters after the game.

This is a manager who just weeks ago came close to leading Liverpool to a quadruple after winning the League Cup and FA Cup.

But the past week has been brutal. The master tactician watched his side lose the Premier League title to Manchester City last Sunday and the UCL final to Real Madrid just six days later.

You thought you were having a tough week.

Nevertheless, Klopp revolutionized the Reds during his time at Liverpool FC. His attack-oriented 4-3-3 is one of the best tactical setups in the world. He oversees a wonderful squad and most of the time knows how to achieve a win.

It’s true that Liverpool fans are crying into their beers after Saturday’s loss to Real Madrid. But it’s also true that Klopp has done a lot for Liverpool. He led the team to three finals and second place in the EPL with 92 points.

The fans should be thankful for that.

“These guys played an outstanding season. The two competitions we didn’t win, we didn’t win by the smallest possible margin: one point, 1-0. city during the [Premier League] They were a point better this season and tonight Madrid were a goal better,” said Klopp. “That says nothing about us. The difference between 2018 and now is that I see us coming back. In 2018 I wished for it, but I couldn’t know. But these guys are really competitive, they have an amazing attitude.”

Klopp, always the optimist, also told reporters after the Paris game that Liverpool will be in contention for UCL next year.

“I have a feeling we’ll be back. We’ll have an excellent group next season and we’ll go again,” he said. “Where is it next year? Istanbul? Book the hotel.”
