Jungle Bunch Team’s Kinology “Argonuts” is selling in big territories

Argonuts, a Disney-style animated family film from The Jungle Bunch team, TAT Productions, has attracted leading distributors in key markets.

Rolling out of the American film market, Gregoire Melin’s sales banner Kinology has secured a number of deals in the UK (Studiocanal), Germany and Austria (Plaion), Latin America (California Films), Australia and New Zealand (Icon Film Distribution) and South Korea (Green Narae Media), Lumix Media (Vietnam), Lev Cinema (Israel) and Merzigo (Turkey). Kinology also sold “Argonuts” to Viva Kids for the US during AFM, where the feature film had its market premiere.

“‘Argonuts’ features beautiful animation worthy of a studio film, a compelling original story with lovable characters and an ancient Greek setting that will appeal to both children and their parents,” said Melin, an animation expert who previously edited Luc Besson’s Arthur and The Invisibles”, “Mune” and “A Monster in Paris”.

The large number of distributors who have onboarded “Argonuts” underscores the market’s need for independently produced, ambitious animated films.

France-based TAT has grown into a major animation banner over the past 10 years and has a track record of delivering highly conceptual animated content with global appeal. The Jungle Bunch was one of the top-grossing French productions worldwide in 2017 and Terra Willy, which toured 80 countries, was one of the biggest French titles at the international box office in 2019. Banner last produced “Pil’s Adventures.”

“The Jungle Bunch”, “Terra Willy” and “Pil’s Adventures” have collectively grossed $6.8 million worldwide at the box office.

Argonuts will be widely released in France, with Apollo Films planning a launch on around 600 screens on January 25th.
