Juan Soto’s warning to opposing pitchers was immediately followed

Ahead of his first game since joining the San Diego Padres, Juan Soto issued a warning to opposing pitchers who aged perfectly almost instantly.

A MLB trade deadline Winners for life, the San Diego Padres looked to show the spoils of their victory Wednesday night at Petco Park ahead of Tuesday’s deadline as they welcomed the Colorado Rockies to town Juan SotoJosh Bell and Brandon Drury in the lineup for the first time.

Before the game started, however, Soto issued a sort of warning to opposing pitchers about the new San Diego lineup that’s about to be pitched. In his introductory press conference said Soto“I wish other pitchers the best of luck.”

It didn’t take long for the Rockies and starting pitcher Chad Kuhl to figure out exactly what that meant.

Padres: Juan Soto warns opposing pitchers, Brandon Drury makes it gospel right away

In the first inning of Wednesday night’s game, Kuhl danced around Soto and led the new superstar four fields. Manny Machado immediately doubled to put the runners in second and third before Bell was also runnered. After Soto scored when Jake Cronenworth was hit by a pitch, that put Drury on the plate and he wasted no time making sure Kuhl, one of the aforementioned opposing pitchers, was out of luck as he laced up a grand slam.

That gave the Padres a 5-0 lead early on, but above all it showed how dangerous this group is.

The 2-4 hitters in the Soto, Machado, Bell lineup are an opposing pitcher’s nightmare because any of them can take anyone on the base paths home in a jiffy. And with the likes of Cronenworth and Drury behind them, things only get more dangerous, as Wednesday night showed.

And if that wasn’t scary enough, this Fernando Tatis Jr. man is set to return in the next few weeks. So, you know, have fun with that, everyone trying to get three outs against this new Padres lineup.
