Juan Soto talks about acting while having a mic on ESPN

Juan Soto was traded to the San Diego Padres as of the reporting date. Having had some time to think, he is positive about the move.

Soto was treated from the San Diego Padres by the Washington Nationals at the close of trade. He shared his thoughts while putting on a mic on ESPN on Monday night. Although Soto was initially sad about being traded, he explained: “I’m in a good position and [with] a good team.”

Soto was highly coveted by several teams, and the Nationals did a tough job for the racquet. It was unclear exactly where he would end up, but San Diego was always among the front runners.

Soto brings the power to the San Diego lineup. In 16 at-bats with the Padres, he hit .313/.476/.500 for a .976 OPS. Manager Bob Melvin addressed the team’s need for power early in the season, and Soto was one of the best possible additions.

He will play alongside Padres thug Fernando Tatis Jr, with whom he has a previous relationship.

Soto is also more likely to make the playoffs with San Diego than the Nationals. According to FanGraphs, the Padres have an 87 percent chance of making the playoffs. The Nationals have a zero percent chance, which isn’t exactly surprising.

The 23-year-old hitter has accomplished a lot himself, including winning the 2022 Home Run Derby and being offered the largest contract in MLB history.

Soto has a much higher likelihood of team success in San Diego, especially as the Nats entered some sort of retooling.
