“I firmly believe that there is no best musician, best artist, best dancer, best actor.” Jon said in his acceptance speech. “The creative arts are subjective and reach people at a point in their lives when they need them most. It’s like making a song or an album, and it almost has a radar for finding the person when they need it most.”
After thanking his family, friends and team, Jon gave his fellow candidates a sweet greeting.
“I really love your music and had an out of body experience with it.” Jon called. “I honor you. This is for real artists, real musicians. Let’s just keep going: be you.”
Along with album of the year, Jon also won Best Music Video for “Freedom”, Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song for “Cry” and Best Visual Media Score Soundtrack for the Disney film soul.
