Johnny Walker learned a lot from his main loss to Thiago Santos heading into UFC Vegas 48.
UFC light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker makes more than he loses after disappointing defeat before Thiago Santos on his last outing.
Walker will face upcoming heavyweight Jamahal Hill in the main event of UFC Vegas 48. The fight was originally supposed to be the co-main event before Rafael dos Anjos vs Rafael Fiziev clashed at UFC 272.
Walker suffered a tough loss in his first main event experience against Santos last October. He looks hesitant on his feet and doesn’t show his signature swagger that he usually shows in the octagon.
During his pre-fight press conference at UFC Vegas 48, Walker talked about the lessons learned ahead of his second straight main event.
“100%. Walker said. “You win or learn, right? And I learned a lot. It was a great experience going five rounds and I understood my body better and I knew I could try and I knew what I could do. It’s really good. I’m not happy with the results, but I’m pleased with the experience. ”
Johnny Walker is looking to unleash his potential in the light heavyweight division in 2022
Walker has lost three of his last four matches, including defeats to previous defeats Corey Anderson and Nikita Krylov. He started his UFC career with three straight wins after an impressive performance on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Walker is looking to silence the doubters at UFC Vegas 48 and get one step closer to a potential title in 2022.
UFC Vegas 48 takes place on Saturday, February 19, 2022, live from UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. Follow along with FanSided MMA, who is on-site, for all your news and highlights.
