John DiMaggio on his Futurama contract negotiations: “It’s about self-respect”

In one statement posted on Twitter On Tuesday night, the Bender actor explained why he didn’t sign up for Hulu’s recently announced revival. DiMaggio said he believes the entire cast should be paid more for the Hulu series, while decrying an industry that is “too much of an overuse of the artist’s time and talent”. “I’ve been thinking about everything that’s been going on these past few months and to be more specific, I don’t think I alone deserve to be paid more. I think the entire cast does the same,” DiMaggio wrote in his statement. “Negotiation is a natural part of program business. Everyone has a different strategy and different boundaries. ‘Their prices.’ Some accepted the offer, some stood their ground. Bender is a part of my soul and this is by no means disrespectful to the fans or to me exhibition about the future family. It’s about self-esteem. And honestly, (it is) getting tired of an industry becoming too corporate and taking advantage of the time and talent of artists… I wish I could give you every detail to you can understand, but that’s not my place. Thanks again for the love everyone. Still hoping for the best.” John DiMaggio on his Futurama contract negotiations: “It’s about self-respect”
