“Joe is committed to co-parenting the children so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and of course is also happy for the children to be raised in both the US and the UK. “The children were born in the USA and have spent most of their lives in the USA. They are American citizens,” the statement said.

Jonas also criticized Turner’s use of the word “kidnapping” in her lawsuit, claiming it was “misleading” and “an abuse of the legal system.” He further explained that her children had not been “kidnapped” and were currently with their mother.

The “Cake By The Ocean” singer’s statement also claims that Turner’s sole motive for the claims about her children was her desire to move the divorce proceedings to the UK

The statement said: “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. Using phrases like “kidnapping” is misleading at best and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not kidnapped. After being in Joe’s care for the past three months by mutual consent of both parties, the children are currently with their mother. Sophie is only making this claim to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and permanently remove the children from the US.”

They were made without his consent and are not in accordance with his views. “His wish is for Sophie to reconsider her strict legal situation and take a more constructive and private approach,” the statement said, concluding that Jonas’ “only concern is the well-being of his children.”
