Jim Cornette opened fire on AEW for letting CM Punk out of the fight

CM Punk launched All Elite Wrestling a few months ago at AEW Rampage: The First Leap. It certainly changed the world of professional wrestling as more people took notice of the company. Tony Schiavone considers this the greatest debut in pro wrestling history.
CM Punk became one of the mainstays of AEW television and feuded with the likes of Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston, and others. In the end, CM Punk started a feud with MJF.
In last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk took on Lee Moriarty in a pretty good match where Punk was clearly defeated by the younger star. In the end, Punk won the match.
While said above Experience podcast, Jim Cornette criticized AEW for letting CM Punk be defeated by child interfaces, which simply made no sense in terms of plot.
“Don’t make CM Punk struggle with a baby face where he just has to struggle. Let him show vulnerability to a heel who employs allusion tactics. It was a different setting, and there, I understood that it was simply a story. And I’m not even saying that I hate the story. I’m just saying they’re doing a good enough job of telling the story that people might end up buying Punk simply without what’s needed if they’re not careful. “
We’ll have to wait and see how AEW will handle CM Punk and the MJF feud as it’s definitely one of the best things going on in the company right now as fans just don’t get it all.
