Jessica Simpson fans furious at ‘extremely disappointing’ details in new photo

Jessica Simpson Style is the entrepreneur’s clothing line, launched in 2015 under the name The Jessica Simpson Collection.

“Powerful things are coming in 2023! Meeting my @jessicasimpsonstyle ladies on #internationalwomensday to talk about what’s next for the brand,” began Simpson, 42.

“What exciting things should we add to the collection this year?”

She ended the caption with the quote, “Strong women fight with grace in their hearts, kindness in their voices, and love in their souls.”

Commenters were quick to blast the beauty shop owner over a perceived lack of diversity on the team.

“I don’t see any diversity in this photo. It just goes to show how much more work we still have to do 🙄,” said one.

“Mixing women from different backgrounds would add a whole new perspective to your styling!” another added.

“It’s great to see all the women around this table, but it’s extremely disappointing to see the lack of diversity,” said a third.

Other loyal fans jumped to Simpson’s defense.

“Maybe she hired everyone qualified for the position? You shouldn’t fill a position for that – to meet your diversity quota!” said one follower.

“The picture doesn’t tell the whole story. The company is diverse. This is a team photo and we can’t assume that,” said another.

“Furthermore, a company should not hire based on colour, but based on expertise, experience and talent, or conduct internships.”

The photo comes weeks after Simpson shared a Valentine’s Day post with her husband Eric Johnson and their children Maxwell, 10, Ace, 9, and Birdie, 3.

This time, followers focused on Simpson, taking issue with the model regarding her “frail” looks.

Simpson was seen smiling in one photo, with her arms crossed and her head on her daughter’s.

Another picture with her son appeared to be an “optical illusion” that made it difficult to distinguish the star’s body from her son’s.

“Your children are taller than you. Then you should know there’s a problem,” one commenter wrote in response to the images.

“It can’t be her. She looks like a whole different person!” remarked another.

“I say that with concern. Honest. Please take care of yourself for the sake of your children. They need you more than you think!” wrote another.

Simpson’s die-hard supporters were quick to lash out at the comments again, with one saying the star “might have an underlying health issue and that’s nobody’s business.”

“Stop judging people, especially these celebrities who are under so much pressure. You never know what’s going on,” agreed another.

Simpson lost 45kg after giving birth to Birdie in 2019.

Discussing her dramatic weight loss in 2022, the star said regular appointments with a nutritionist and getting her eating habits in order made her feel like a new person.

“I feel like my old self before I had kids and all the hormones were running wild,” she told Extra.

“Actually, I feel younger.

“I have a lot more energy and yes I can wear all the clothes I saved for (daughters) Maxwell and Birdie.

“Maybe Birdie will outgrow them because Maxwell has already outgrown me!”

She has also been open about alcohol addiction.

In November 2021, after four years of sobriety, she posted a throwback photo of herself at the height of her addiction.

“This person early in the morning of November 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself,” she wrote.

“I had to unlock and explore so much self-discovery.

“I knew in that moment that I would allow myself to reclaim my light, show victory over my inner battle of self-esteem, and brave this world with piercing clarity.”
